MEET THE MORGANS
Pastor Kobie Blair Morgan, Esq., MBA, MA, LPC
Pastor Melissa Morgan
Pastor Kobie and First Lady Melissa are devout believers and Kingdom-builders called to worship, build, and thrive on purpose. Called to ministry, education, wellness, community development, and mentorship, the Morgan’s are not new to church leadership or ministry.

Pastor Kobie (raised and trained in the Methodist denomination) and First Lady Melissa (trained in the Pentecostal/Charismatic denomination) bring a creative mix to Thrive Church. Flavored with a heart for multicultural, purpose-driven discipleship, and a “southern”, warm, and relational approach to Kingdom fellowship and community-building, the Morgan’s believe that God is bringing the Corporate Body of Christ together at such a time as this to worship, build, and thrive on purpose, as one Kingdom community.
The Morgans believe that God’s assignment for them is trifold:
-
To effectively servant-lead as compassionate, mature, fruit-bearing disciples,
-
To help build and organize God’s Heavenly Kingdom on earth, and
-
To optimally impact its citizens, families, schools, communities, socio-economic systems, and diverse nations of the world (as mature, fruit-bearing, disciples).

Melissa currently is a successful bilingual high school history teacher, the Thrive Church Women’s Ministry leader, and the founder of Spark & Thrive (a young women’s mentorship ministry).
Pastor Kobie (aka “Coach K”) is a non-practicing attorney, executive consultant, licensed clinical therapist, the Founder of The Wellness Center USA, LLC, and a silly but passionate college professor. Once a bored and unmotivated student, Coach is currently studying at Dallas Theological Seminary completing his sixth degree.

Fun Factoids
>>Meli: a fashionista, foody, movie-lover, devout soccer fan (go Honduras!) and a hoops/Kobe Bryant fan.
>>Coach K: is still adjusting to NJ; born in “Chocolate City” (Washington DC), raised in the “DMV”, an avid gym rat, wellness nerd, former D1 basketball scholarship recipient, NBA scout, and bored corporate exec and then God called.
>>The Morgan’s are also proud child sponsors of their 4 beloved Compassion kids: Simegnish (from Ethiopia), Prince (from Tanzania), Jackson (from Ghana), and Camila (from Honduras).
…They believe that the best is yet to come for the Kingdom of God, Thrive Church, and its thrivers. ☺
